The BBC are reporting on Wifi and the worry that it could be possible that it is causing the headaches and skin rashes that teachers and children in schools have said it does. So should I be worrying when I’m sitting here on my laptop hammering away at my keyboard, that passing through my body are the harmful radio waves that people have claimed wifi to be?
I think we have to get this in perspective I think.
There isn’t enough evidence to suggest that they are harmful, but on the other hand there isn’t any to say they aren’t and the problem is as my friend Calum said “it’s never made easier when you have two sets of extreme people claiming it’s the devil/absolutely nothing wrong with it while the voices of the people who actually want to know the truth get lost in the middle”.
But until there is definitive evidence that it’s harmful I’ll be keeping my access points up and running.
So I’m going to finish my rant here.
Wifi … It’s harmful! Well…possibly :-o

Taxing Criminals Like the Pro’s
•December 13, 2006 • 3 CommentsI watched a TV program tonight called “Macintyre’s Underworld” If you know what it’s about ignore the next few lines. This program is about the criminal underworld and about the prominant figures of britains underworld – tonight it followed a “steriod-filled fighting machine” that calls himself Brian “The Taxman” Cockerill has taxed drug dealers out of millions of pounds over the years which by the way doesn’t sound a bad idea.
Example.
Break down a drug dealers door give him a good few digs in the ribs slap round the head take his drugs and his money earn a few thousand pounds in about an hour at the most and if you’re willing to handle the repercussions – and there will be repercussions these drug dealers aren’t selling for fun you know – there’s not much they can do and let’s face it they can’t exactly go to the police now, can they? You would think not, but one did and The Taxman is the only man that I know of who has been arrested for stealing drugs from a drug dealer – he wasn’t found guilty, the drug dealer changed his tune after a while (wonder why?) so he got off with it.
End of Example
You would obviously have to take a few kick ins and would have to probably kill a few people, oh and there is the risk for your family such as your wife, children, mum, dad and siblings blah blah but these are minor issues. I would be more worried about my, to quote my mum “perfect” nose getting broken or my car which I would probably have at this time getting keyed and windows getting smashed, but after a while and giving a few people smaller than you a good beating you would be feared and respected enough to be allowed to drive flashy cars without the risk of it getting smashed and leave your family alone without the risk of them getting shot, burnt alive, kidnapped, buried, subjected to a Britney Spears album or anything else you wouldn’t want to happen to them. I think we should give this guy his due he’s got balls there’s not alot of people that would do this sort of thing but Brian does and the people of Teeside should probably thank him. Well, I’m unemployed just now so all I’ve got to do is find the drug dealers around here wish me luck in my search, I might not be back to tell of my adventures.
Addiction to Technology
•December 12, 2006 • 4 CommentsIt seems everyone is coming out of the closet as it were about being addicted to technology, in this case wireless internet and another is a case of laptop addiction Well I have a confession I’m addicted to all of the above plus Xbox Live on the Xbox360.
These things I just can’t get enough off, I’m afraid to say it, I really just don’t want to sleep for playing my Xbox or for talking to my fellow net junkies on IRC – I believe the netheads on IRC know they, also are addicted to the net but they’re just not as strong as myself to admit it too the world. I’ve been sitting here writing this and not really been paying attention to my Irssi terminal so I’m going to have to go now and get back to my fellow net junkies so I bid you farewell.
How to get the Sony Erricson W810i working as a gprs modem via bluetooth on Mac OSX
•December 11, 2006 • 1 CommentTonight I thought ‘Oh I think I’ll get my phone working as a modem’ I thought this because I’m hoping to do some traveling in the new year. Although this would usually be no problem to get working with Windows these kind of things usually give us Mac OSX users hassle so this is how I got my iBook G4 running 10.3.9 and my SE W810i working in harmony. After Googling I realised there were no drivers for the w810i but there were drivers for the K750i here
After grabbing this Archive I followed the steps found here although this says it’s for the k750i there’s not much difference between the two phones so it works for the w810i aswell. In the archive there is alot of files you only need one the file called “Sony Ericsson GPRS CID1″ This was the one that worked for me but if this one does work for you then try the other ones.
Well I hope this helps some of you in your bid to get your w810i and mac osx playing nicely together.
Always a first…
